Last Night, Wednesday 10th, our Concern Debates team faced off against Coláiste Bhríde in the first round of the competition. Our team was made up of Lhamo Fitzsimons (6th), Michael Wright (5th), Rebecca Parke (TY) and Emma Carter (TY). We were proposing the motion “Individuals serious about climate change must give up eating meat”. It was an excellent debate and the adjudicators commended them on their excellent refutation and rebuttal. It was too close to call though and they called a draw in the end. We are looking forward to our next debate on the 23rd against Colaiste Chraobh Abhann.
