WELCOME BACK

We would like to welcome back all of our students and teachers to the school. In particular, we welcome our new First Years and the students who have joined our school in other year groups. We also welcome our new teachers and hope that they will enjoy their time in Coláiste Chill Mhantáin. We look forward to sharing the school's many milestones, successes and achievements in the weeks and months to come.

EXAMINATION RESULTS

We take this opportunity to congratulate and say well done to our Leaving Certificate Class of 2022 on their excellent examination results. We wish our graduating students well and hope that they continue to enjoy success in their third-level courses, careers and future life paths. Thank you, also, to their parents and teachers who supported the students in achieving their potential.

SENIOR PREFECT TEAM

Senior Prefects provide an important liaison between students, teachers and school management. They demonstrate the qualities of leadership, teamwork and responsibility that reflect the ethos of the school. We would like to wish our Senior Prefect Team of 2022-23 every success this year. We particularly wish our Head Boy, Rían Byrne, and Head Girl, Angelica Geoghegan, well in their new role as ambassadors for the school.

EVENING STUDY

Coláiste Chill Mhantáin’s Evening Study programme for Second to Sixth year students offers a quiet, supervised space within the school environment, where a student won't be disrupted. This is of huge benefit to all students to assist with their individual learning and completion of school-related tasks. The fact that supervised evening study takes place five evenings a week for the school year means that students gain the advantage of developing a good routine regarding doing their homework and study. By being present in the same surroundings as their peers, students feel the support and connection to peers who are engaged in the same activity.

TY TRIP TO BALTINGLASS

On Tuesday, 13 September, and Thursday, 15 September, TY classes students enjoyed their first trip of the year to Baltinglass Outdoor Education Centre in the beautiful sunshine! Along with getting the chance to mix with new classmates and friends, activities included kayaking, rock climbing, archery, zip lining and orienteering. The students had a great day, and it was an excellent start to the Transition Year programme for all involved.

WORLD SKILLS IRELAND

All Transition Year students attended an Apprenticeship and Traineeship information event in the RDS on Tuesday, 13 September, and Thursday, 15 September. The event was of particular interest to students interested in pursuing these career areas following graduation from CCM.
