On the 20th & 21st September 2018, all Transition Year students in Coláiste Chill Mhantáin completed the Cambridge Profile Aptitude test as well as the Eirquest Careers Interest test. The Cambridge Profile test is a psychometric based aptitude test that tests students in the following areas: Verbal Reasoning; Numerical Reasoning; Abstract Reasoning; 2D Spatial Reasoning; 3D Spatial Reasoning; Arithmetic Calculation; Working Quickly and Accurately; & Spelling. The results from both tests give students valuable insights into the work and career areas that best suit their individual skills and interests. Increasingly, psychometric tests are used by employers, academic institutions and graduate training schemes, so having access to complete such tests during the transition year programme helps students gain confidence in sitting such tests and avoids stress when they are presented with similar tests in the future.
