HSCL Parent Workshops
On Thursday and Friday, 12 and 13 December, 30 parents joined us for a Christmas wreath-making workshop. Parents were taught how to put the wreaths together in a lovely festive environment, and after a few hours of assembling, chatting, laughing and swapping stories and pieces of ribbon and holly, they managed to create the most beautiful Christmas wreaths.
Many thanks to Ms. Melia, whose expertise guided the workshops on both days. Even the staff got in on the action!
Fifth Year Christmas Trip
CCM Fifth year students enjoyed a trip to Dundrum cinema on Thursday, 12 December, together with their Year Heads and tutors to celebrate their achievements and progress through the first term of the year. The action-packed historical blockbuster sequel Gladiator 2 received the thumbs-up from the students. Afterwards, students enjoyed their time for lunch with their friends in the pleasant surrounds of Dundrum Town Centre. Thank you to Fifth year tutors for all their help in organising a great day out.
Transition Year Home Economics
Well done to Ms Browne's TY Home Economics class on completing a busy term trying out various new recipes and cooking techniques. The TY students enjoyed showing their creativity when making festive Christmas wreaths in class recently🎄
First Year Boys’ GAA
CCM First year Boys’ GAA continued their winning streak of games in a tight contest against Glenart on Tuesday, 10 December. Both teams were evenly matched and fought for every ball. CCM trailed by two points at halftime but, with some great play through the hands between the lads and finishing off some great moves, CCM won by three points in the end. Well done to all who played and travelled on the day.
Junior GAA
CCM hosted Tyndall College Carlow in their final group game of the Leinster Championship on Wednesday, 11 December. CCM started brightly and kicked into an early lead through great points from Harry Butler, Sean O'Brien, Evan O'Connor and Sam Behan. However, CCM took the foot off the gas and Tyndall CC got two goals on the break but CCM responded well with a brace of goals of their own from full forward Jack Healy, giving CCM a halftime lead of 2-8 to 2-2.
Further goals from Kale Conyard and Rhys Behan, with Cillian Czwalina and Sean chipping in with further points and strong defensive and hard-working displays from full-back, Conor Coffey, and half forward, David McCormack, sealed the win for CCM on a scoreline of 4-11 to 2-6.
CCM now progresses into the next stage of the competition. Well done to all the players involved.
