Trip to Glasnevin Cemetery
On Tuesday, 30 January, TY students went on a history tour of Glasnevin Cemetery. We had some excellent tour guides who brought us to the graves of some of the most prominent figures in Irish history including Daniel O’Connell, Charles Stewart Parnell, Eamon De Valera and Michael Collins. We also heard stories of body snatchers, grave robbers and the history of Glasnevin Cemetery. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed such a fun and educational trip!
GOAL Guest Speaker
On Friday, 2 February, John O’Shea, founder of GOAL, spoke to TY1 and TY2 students. GOAL is an Irish non-governmental organisation devoted to helping the poorest of the poor. Mr. O'Shea spoke about the incredible work he has done in the developing world and some of the incredible social entrepreneurs he has met in his life, from St Teresa to Nelson Mandela. The students asked fascinating questions and saw some incredible pictures of the people and places that Mr. O'Shea has visited in his life.
At the end of the session, he urged the students to write emails to President Biden regarding the ongoing bombings on the Gaza Strip and to our own government officials regarding the refugee crisis. Thank you so much to Mr. O'Shea for such an eye-opening discussion.

Coming out top in three of the four quarters CCM, showed great offensive efficiency allowing them to maintain a comfortable lead throughout. The game finished 30-18 to CCM. Top scorers were Rory Grove and Daire Kenny.
Our Second Years put in a battling performance but found their Greystones counterparts too strong on the day. Top scorers were Justin Ivanets and Conor Kang.
